I'm currently engaged in two interdisciplinary projects at school looking at sustainable agriculture from various biological standpoints. I've noticed some pretty strange differences between my two groups.
My Monday group is fine...but I find that we start talking for maybe the first five minutes, and then have nothing else to say. We then awkwardly pretend to check our cell phones for the rest of the time...and I also happen to be the only one who's done anything project-related so far.
On the other hand, my Wednesday group is a completely different story...we've pretty much finished the entire project. And I'm literally almost always late for my next class because we seem to have endless things to talk about...high school, courses, and I don't know - it seems like we're already really good friends.
It's really strange...group dynamics are interesting. Sometimes the connection or "chemistry" is there...and sometimes it's not.
It's nice working with a group that you really *click* with...I feel like everyone's more motivated and excited about the project that way.
But why my Monday group doesn't *click* just puzzles me. Weird! Hopefully it works out.

Each one salutes me as he goes,
And I my childish plumes
Lift, in bereaved acknowledgement
Of their unthinking drums.
