Piano...*Quartet*?

In regards to the Danse Macabre piece I was asked to do a couple days ago, I realized that it's actually not a quartet for piano and strings (which I automatically assumed), but a PIANO QUARTET!

Unfortunately, I was e-mailed yesterday because the project has been scrapped since yet another member of the group isn't able to make it.  Darn.  I was planning to make a schematic diagram of my part to help me memorize it...

But actually, have you ever heard of the Five Browns?  They're 5 siblings who all play the piano and perform worldwide in combinations of 1, 2, 3, 4, or all 5 at once on Steinway grands.

They were all simultaneously trained at Julliard with piano guru Veda Kaplinsky too...how awesome is that?  They do things like Rhapsody in Blue, Holst's the Planets, Rachmaninoff's Paganini Variations and more...Ubercool!  Their 5 pianos before a performance below:

They've actually also done a 5-piano version of the Danse Macabre by Saint-Saëns! :P

In other musically related news...I'm seeing Dessay starring in Lucia di Lammermoor tomorrow @ 1:00 P.M. live in my local movie theatre!  Super-pumped :)  Have heard the mad scene she did in a performance two days ago...a little rough...hoping that she rocks the house tomorrow!!

Each one salutes me as he goes,
And I my childish plumes
Lift, in bereaved acknowledgement
Of their unthinking drums.
