Snow has NEVER, EVER made ANY sense to me. I was born in Edmonton, Canada and then moved to Indianapolis, but the first place where I remember growing up was Texas. NO SNOW!!
I remember the first time when I moved back to Ontario, Canada, I was about 6 and it was January.
I went to school the first day and everyone was like, let's go tobogganing at recess! (Because there was a giant hill next to our school.)
I was like WTF...what's that... (except with milder language appropriate for six-year-olds)...and what's SNOW...never heard of it or seen it before...it's a LIIIIIIIIE...
So going into denial DID NOT make the snow go away...more than ten years later, I still don't get it! We had a BLIZZARD TODAY. IN MARCH! School buses were freaking cancelled!!
Anyway, the above picture is one I took a few minutes ago when I realized that even my chem lab was coincidentally already colour-coded for spring. I WANT GREEN GRASS NOT WHITE SNOW.
I feel my S.A.D.ness coming on...*Texan tears*...and in my denial, I will refuse to change my blog background from anything but clear blue skies. TAKE THAT, CANADAAAA!!
Hey, you don't know how lucky you are! I have never skiied, never tobogganed, never had a snowball fight, never made a snowman, never had a white Christmas...
ReplyDeleteIn fact I have only seen snow about three or four times in my entire life!
South Africa tends to go for the other extreme - hot and muggy.
:)
Awwwww...I guess it is a good thing that our Canadian seasons are so varied...poor Renate! :(
